Iowa Healthlink Update

We want to make our consumers aware of a change to the Iowa Medicaid system. 

Iowa has selected four Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to administer the state Medicaid Program.  The four MCOs will replace the current state-run administration.  The new program is called IA Health Link and will go into effect on January 1, 2016.

• This will not change consumer Iowa Focus services. 
• Consumer staff, supports, and shift times will continue without interruption.

The oversight of Medicaid cases will be assigned to one of the four MCOs.   Consumers and their families should watch for correspondence from the Department of Human Services or from one of the MCOs to help stay informed 

Iowa Focus is working closely with each of the MCOs to ensure there is no change to services.  Quality and consistency is important to our consumers and their families. This change in Medicaid oversight will not affect the daily experience of those we support in any significant way.
