This service allows the usual caregiver of a person with disabilities to take a break. Respite care services are provided to the consumer to give temporary relief to the usual caregiver and allow for all the necessary care that the usual caregiver would provide during that time period. The purpose of respite care is to enable the consumer to remain in the his or her current living situation.
• Respite is available to persons diagnosed with an Intellectual Disability, a Brain Injury, or a Chronic Mental Illness.
• Respite is to be provided in the consumer's home and/or the community.
• Respite may be provided in the employee's home after an inspection.
